South Carolina Obtaining an ID & Birth Certificate
Obtaining an ID & Birth Certificate You are eligible to receive an identification card (ID) if all the following are true: • You do not have a valid South Carolina driver’s license or beginner’s permit, • You live in the state, and • You can provide documents that prove your identity to get an ID. Original ID cards and renewals are FREE for people who are over the age of 17.
