As the Deputy Director of National Programs, Alesia oversees National Programs created to fulfill Root & Rebound’s mission of supporting individuals navigating reentry. As the South Carolina Managing Attorney, she spearheads strategic advocacy and supervises the delivery of civil legal services related to reentry.
Alesia is a former Administrative Judge for the City of Charleston Municipal Court in Charleston, South Carolina. While there she played a role in establishing the first City of Charleston Homeless Court. Alesia also has prior legal experience as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. Alesia is passionate about advancing criminal justice reform initiatives and addressing racial and economic disparities in our criminal justice system. She rarely passes up an opportunity to raise awareness about these issues through community outreach and education.
Alesia earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Juris Doctor Degree from The University of Tulsa College of Law.
